Inspirational Sunday

Bill Witcher, co-founder of Computer School for Seniors will be sharing words of encouragement, inspiration and hope with you each Sunday.

You Are One of a Kind

Do you know how special you are? Do you know how unique you are? Without question, you are one of a kind. There is no one else on this planet exactly like you. There never has been and there never will be. How many times have you said to your kids or grandkids, "you're special." And that is so true. Each and every one of us is "special" in God's eyes. He knew exactly what He was doing and why He was doing it when He created you.

As I mentioned in some of my earlier posts, I am taking Rick Warren's 40 day journey in his book "The Purpose Driven Life". It's a fabulous book and a beneficial journey. I highly recommend it. I'm on Day 36.

In Day 2, he makes it clear that we are not an accident. "Your birth was no mistake or mishap and your life is no fluke of nature. Your parents may not have planned you but God did. Long before you were conceived by your parents, you were conceived in the mind of God. He thought of you first. God never does anything accidentally and He never makes mistakes. He has a reason for everything He creates."

This poem by Russell Kelfer sums it up:

You are who you are for a reason.
You're part of an intricate plan.
You're a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God's special woman or man.

You look like you look for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb,
You're just what he wanted to make.

The parents you had were the ones he chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were custom-designed with God's plan in mind,
And they bear the Master's seal.

No, the trauma you faced was not easy.
And God wept that it hurt you so.
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into His likeness you'd grow.

You are who you are for a reason,
You've been formed by the Master's rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a God!
