Harry the Puli and Seniors Pet Assistant Network (SPAN)

An HGES Animal Tails Editorial

I would like to get serious for a moment. Fish and I were rescue Pulis who were both very lucky and our stories had a happy new beginning. We found a loving home and wonderful life with our new Mum. This was NOT the case before we each traveled to Texas.

You have it in your power to help others like us....if you can. Please open your life and your heart to a rescue dog or cat. There are many national and local organizations who service the DFW area to choose from. There is, however, one local program which has a special place in my's called the Seniors Pet Assistance Network (SPAN).

The mission of SPAN is to serve the needs of Dallas County low-income seniors, 67 years and older with basic veterinary care and pet food. If you would like to help out and make a difference.....contribute your time and become a volunteer. Not able to volunteer.....then maybe you can afford to make a donation of cash or pet food. Our friends at SPAN can be reached at They would love to hear from you.

Lastly, if YOU NEED HELP...let them know. They're a caring group of people with a heart as big as Texas. Just tell them...Harry sent you!!!

Cheerio y'all.

Your friend,
Harry Gareth Edward Spaulding
